My journey into dog grooming began in an unexpected way during the COVID-19 pandemic. While furloughed from my role as a Garment Technologist in retail head office, I decided to pursue my love for animals and trained in professional dog grooming at Newton Rigg College. The experience was a turning point, igniting my passion for working with dogs every day.
Since then, life has blessed me with a wonderful family. I married my lovely husband Paul in 2022 and we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Ava, into the world in 2024, which inspired me to find a career that offers more flexibility for my family. I wanted a role that could blend my professional skills with my love for dogs and a schedule that suits both my work and family life.
As a lifelong dog owner, I’ve always had a deep affection for dogs and a keen understanding of their personalities and needs. At The Mutt Co, my goal is to create a calm, welcoming, enjoyable environment where each dog feels at ease and every owner feels confident leaving their beloved pet in my care. Whether it’s a quick trim or a full grooming session, I bring dedication and genuine care to every dog I meet.
At The Mutt Co, I take a holistic approach to grooming. I believe that each dog’s comfort and happiness are essential, and I’m dedicated to creating a stress-free experience for every pet. I would never force a dog into any part of the grooming process that makes them uncomfortable; instead, I work at each dog’s pace, using gentle techniques and positive reinforcement to ensure they feel safe and secure.
